Google Drive for Mac: create, share and keep all your stuff in one place. You can now access your Google Drive files, even the big ones, from your Mac. Share them with whomever you want, and edit them together in real time. Download OneDrive for macOS 10.12 or later and enjoy it on your Mac. ‎Start with 5 GB of free cloud storage or upgrade to a Microsoft 365 subscription to get 1 TB of storage. Microsoft 365 includes premium Office apps, 1 TB cloud storage in OneDrive, advanced security, and more, all in one convenient subscription. Same exact issues here with a MacBook Air M1 with both Google File Stream Drive and Backup and Sync. Howerver, I used the Apple Migration Tool to migrate from my 2013 MacBook Pro rather than a fresh install. I then tried uninstalling, rebooting, clearing the cache, reinstalling the Google apps but get the same errors. Compared to other services like Dropbox, Google Drive lets you create and edit documents using a suite of office applications, such as Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Drawings. For all members, irrespective of the operating system, Google Drive offers 15 GB of free storage space.

My Garageband files were saved to a Google Drive. Now, when I attempt to download and open them, the files are split into folders with content?
you can't store GB files on a non-mac formatted drive; .band files are a special type of file called a package which is not supported by other file systems.

How do I restore them back to a usable GB file?
having never tried this, i can't say for sure that this will work, but here's something you can try:
- open GB and create a new project (of any type, it doesn't matter)
- save that file and quit GB
- find the file you saved, ctrl-click it, and choose Show Package Contents
- drag everything within the file to the trash
- drag the contents of your broken GB files into the new file, from where you dumped the contents
- try re-launching GB and see what happens when you try to open this new file
Download Google Drive For Macbook Air
if you want to store your files on a non-mac formatted disk, zip them up first by ctrl-clicking the file and choosing Compress '[FIleName]'
